Board of Chiefs
The Boonton Fire Department is led by three elected officers drawn from its five companies. Chiefs are elected annually, with a tradition of two-year terms per role — totaling a six-year commitment per member.

Chief
Glen Baker
Term: 2026–2027
Senior officer; sets policy, leads major incidents, and represents BFD to town and state agencies.

Deputy Chief
Anthony Bucco
Term: 2028–2029
Second-in-command; manages daily operations and handles on-scene incident command.

Battalion Chief
Michael Colarusso
Term: 2030–2031
Third officer; coordinates between companies and training programs across all companies.
About the Election Process
Chiefs are elected annually from among the department's active members. By tradition, each officer serves a two-year term in their role, with the full board representing a six-year commitment: two years as Battalion Chief, two as Deputy Chief, and two as Chief. The board is drawn from the department's five companies (301–305).
