About the Election Process

Chiefs are elected annually from among the department's active members. By tradition, each officer serves a two-year term in their role, with the full board representing a six-year commitment: two years as Battalion Chief, two as Deputy Chief, and two as Chief. The board is drawn from the department's five companies (301โ€“305).
