For 133 years the members have volunteer their time to protect and educate the residents of Boonton. The fire department handles over two hundred calls a year consisting of structure fires, auto accidents, brush fires, carbon monoxide alarms and almost every other emergency situation you can think of. Members are on call 24x7 / 365 days a year.
In addition to answering emergencies, department members also volunteer their time for community education. During Fire Protection Week, members visit the schools in town to promote safety among our school children. Adding to that considerable load, members also spend thousands of man-hours in training.
